Raised by career missionaries in Mexico, and with a teaching background in Spanish language, Russian language and literature, and more recently, theology, Steve’s broadest interest is in Christianity and culture, and in equipping leaders for mission and ministry in cross-cultural contexts. Specifically, his research has taken him into the worlds of sixteenth-century Spanish Protestantism, the doctrine of the Church, Christianity and literature, and Christianity in a multi-faith world. He has served as a lay pastor for a Spanish-speaking congregation in London, England, and has taught at the University of British Columbia, Oklahoma City University, McGill University, Kiev Christian University, and Alliance Graduate School in Manila, Philippines. He is married to Stella, and they have three children.
